A senior member of Bosnia's ruling Social Democratic Party and Croatian member of Bosnia's State Presidency, Zeljko Komsic, left the party on Monday, his office confirmed in Sarajevo.
Komsic is quitting the party, led by Zlatko Lagumdzija, after the SDP proposed constitutional changes allegedly without consulting him.
He left the party session on Friday when the close leadership discussed how the 2009 Sejdic-Finci human rights ruling should be implemented - with Komsic disagreeing over proposed changes to the method of electing members of the State Presidency.
The European Court of Human Rights ruling told Bosnia to change its laws to allow members of ethnic minorities run for top governing posts.
These are currently reserved for members of the three main ethnic groups in the country, Bosniaks [Muslims], Serbs and Croats.
The SDP's proposed solution is supported by the Croatian Democratic Union, HDZ, its sister party, HDZ 1990, and the SDP's new coalition partner, the Alliance for a Better Future, SBB.
?I recommend the SDP and their legal experts to start reading the Bosnian Constitution,? Komsic told reporters referring to the proposed solutions.
It is not the first time that Komsic has rocked the party in recent months.
In March he resigned from all party posts, saying that the party was not doing enough to address the real problems in the country, such as corruption.
The party did not accept his resignation.
