Razer show MechWarrior Online Concept Controller ? Ironhammers ...

Home ? Headline, News

I?m sure most people here have, at some point in time, wished they had one of those mega-awesome, but terribly expensive, Steel Battalion controllers. And while it wasn?t exactly the most successful product to hit the gaming market, it seems there?s a future for this type of controller. With MechWarrior Online well into its development, Razer have revealed the Artemis, a concept controller for that very game.

While it is currently only a concept, it sure looks like one of the most awesome peripherals ever. It?s got full force feedback on the control stick, a screen that can show vital statistics from within the game, and a keypad which, fitting in with the concept, has mechanical switches beneath its keys ? which can also talk to the stick, allowing shift key-like functions. But who cares about functionality in a product that looks as bad-ass as this does? You all wanted this sat atop your desk just as soon as you saw the image above, right?

?The original MechWarrior PC game franchise was a formative milestone for my gaming growing up,? said Robert ?RazerGuy? Krakoff, President of Razer USA.? ?When it was announced that a new MechWarrior Online was in the works, Razer was more than excited for the opportunity to collaborate with Piranha Games and Infinite Game Publishing.? We?re going to bring our own take to a concept controller that will pave the way for a new generation of robot destruction.?

Russ Bullock, President of Piranha Games said, ?It is my pleasure to work with Razer in designing an exclusive MechWarrior Online gaming peripheral.? MechWarrior Online is a title that fans have been waiting a long time for, and allowing them the best peripheral options from the highest quality partners like Razer is something we?re excited to offer. Fans of MechWarrior know how important precision controls are for their Mechs and we think this is going to be a great option for them.?
