Soldier: 'America's Got Talent' contestant who allegedly lied about military service disrespected armed forces
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) ? A soldier whose photo was passed off as that of a singer who appeared on "America's Got Talent" says the veteran's alleged lies are disrespectful.
When Timothy Michael Poe appeared on a Monday episode of the show, he said he was injured by a grenade in Afghanistan in 2009. Minnesota National Guard records do not support his claim.
Poe, of Texas, gave the show a picture he passed off as himself. But the photo was really that of Staff Sgt. Norman Bone, taken in Afghanistan in 2006.
Bone says Friday what Poe is accused of doing is "completely wrong" and disrespects all men and women who have worn a uniform to defend the U.S.
Poe has declined requests for interviews. His fianc?e, Carrie Morris, says Poe accidentally submitted the photo because he was rushed.
