The Hudson-St. Lazare area could get its own commercial radio station within a year if a Toronto-based company has its way.

Dufferin Communications, a company that owns more than a dozen radio stations in Ontario, Manitoba and Nova Scotia, has applied to the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission for a licence to run a radio station that would feature soft adult contemporary music and live programming during morning and afternoon rush hours
