Thanksgiving calls us to acknowledge the blessings in our lives seen and unseen. The holiday leads us to remember what's important and say thanks for all of the people, experiences and opportunities we have been given.
HuffPost Religion asked our readers what they are thankful for. Below is a slideshow of their responses.
What are you thankfor for this year? Tweet @HuffPostRelig or e-mail us a few lines and a photo. Happy Thanksgiving!
I'm thankful for my family that an angel somewhere created. Our children have the same birthmother, it is a closed adoption. We think of her as an Angel out there that made our family possible. - Monroe Moore
We are thankful that we were rescued (from under the freeway and a high kill shelter respectively) and have a wonderful home and lots of love. We wish the same for all animals in need. Love, Chaucer and Molly - Lisa Sumja
I was adopted as a toddler and have not seen my brother in almost 59 years! His wife found me earlier this year and now I have 4 generations of "new" family to be thankful for. I'm also thankful for my awesome daughter who is sending me to Georgia to meet all of them! - Martha Danforth
I'm thankful for the signs of Love that God gives me through its creation. Love is everywhere. - Laurence Bessard (picture taken from my garden in the South West of France)
At Sewa Day we are grateful for the selflessness and commitment volunteers (young and old!) show to serving others. It's inspiring! - Harsha Sharma
This Thanksgiving, at Ramah Darom we are grateful for our community. I?ve attached two photos from one Havdallah last summer. As you know, few things come close to the feeling you get when you?re surrounded by the lights of the Havdallah candles, the sounds of camp friends singing and laughing and the arms of loved ones. Please feel free to use these in your upcoming Thankfulness Project post, or let me know if another photo would be more suitable for your needs. - Sheri Baker
