Canadian porn star Luka Magnotta, suspected of killing his boyfriend in a gruesome murder a few days back, is being taken back to his home county.
Magnotta was arrested in Germany last month and extradited to Canada since he did not fight the case.
It was later revealed that the person on the bed was already dead and his throat had been slit. The graphic film goes on to show the body being cut up. Acts of cannibalism are also shown.
"We're extremely happy with the result today. This is not the end of the investigation. We're missing an important part of the investigation which is the head of the body," the Associated Press quoted Montreal police Cmdr Ian Lafreniere as saying.
Lafreniere said the plane carrying the murder suspect landed at Mirabel airport outside Montreal.
As the handcuffed Magnotta got out of the plane, not less than half a dozen armed police officers escorted him to another vehicle for safe transfer.
He was brought in a military plane, something unusual for a murder suspect. Citing the magnitude of the case and cruelty of the murder, the police said he could not be brought with other passengers on a commercial flight, according to the AP report.
Canadian authorities thanked German officials for the swift transfer of the suspect. "Our government's cooperation with the international community has led to this individual being swiftly returned to face justice," said the Canadian Justice Minister Rob Nicolson, reported the Otago Daily Times.
Magnotta will be appearing in court on Tuesday.?
