I just think the cages are way too small. Are owners supposed to let them out to fly once in awhile?
it depends,
Birds that are bred to be pets have been kept in cages from birth and do not know how to fly properly. If you were to let a pet bird out of a cage( amusing it had never been out of a cage) it would find flying too intense and may lay down for rest.If you buy birds that have been bred in cages since birth it is encouraging breeders to bred more birds.
I have over 20 White Fantail Doves. When we brought then they had to be kept outside under a net around their dove cote( place were they sleep). They were kept here for 2 weeks, they had plenty of room to fly in. After two weeks we let them free into the wild. They went away for a day and came back with more doves they had found. My doves are wild they have all the world to fly in but the come to my house three times a day breakfast, lunch and dinner. They also sleep in the dove cote and have layed many eggs which have hatched and we have raised beautiful little chicks.Out doves are tame and will sit on our shoulders if we wish. From my bedroom window i can see them fly here every morning and they sit on my window ledge and sometimes wake me up because they want breakfast! I think that is freedom If you are planning to have pet birds i would recommend getting doves
An aviary (large, enclosed area created for birds) is a much better, kinder option for keeping birds. It allows them to fly around, while still keeping them safe. Living out their lives in a cage is cruel. Many people have perches on top of their cages, to allow their birds the illusion of freedom. The problem with letting them fly about the house is that they will invariably find a high perch (such as the top of a curtain rod, where it is very hard to retrieve them from. Not to mention they tend to poop all over.
sure, it is
if you were a bird would you like to be trapped in a cage?!!!!
birds have souls and have life to live
they need to make a family and have young birds to make them happy
why do you deprive them of thier simplest right in life?
to amuse youself with their colorful look and nice voice
you are so selfish
i don?t think so. If a bird is kept in the cage all day then yes. My bird is out of her cage 90% of the day. She sits on top of her cage or she roams around on her jungle gym. I also take her outside also etc. I know for a fact she has a wonderful life with a loving family maybe other people would oppose it, and say that it?s wrong, but i think it really depends on the situation.
u shourl do what i do i own a few budgies and canaries finch and lovebird depending on how many u would have in one cage but a big cage if it is a parrot budgie or something like that clip their wings (find online) and let them out u can train them like i did and trust me when i say it is worth it.
I let my Cockatielout everyday? Usually when she whistles which means she wants to come out? (Unless she?s eating sandpaper?)
She has crashed into a few things a few times and what not though, so be careful.
The birds should be flying in the sky
i don?t think its a bad thing?
as long as the owner can provide large cages, entertainment, nutrition, and love, birds can be kept as pets.
small cages are never recommended for keeping any birds, even small ones.
if you managed to tame them you can let them fly outside in a safe room.
but some birds just can?t be let to fly out, maybe they?re too wild, too shy, etc.
so owner should give them large rectangular cage
